At The Headphoneer, we’ve become big fans of the Chinese brand FiiO, which entered the full-size headphone market in 2023 and completely won us over with the FT1 and FT1PRO last year. Now, we’re eagerly anticipating their promised flagship, the FT7, which has finally been completed and will be hitting the market soon. We are, however, also curious about all the other new models they plan to launch in 2025.
BRIEF FIIO HISTORY
FiiO has been in the audio industry since 2007, initially focusing on portable DACs and amplifiers. Over time, the company has become a major name in the IEM market as well. In recent years, FiiO has made a strong push into the desktop audio segment, offering both electronics and full-size headphones.
The first over-ear headphones came as recently as the spring of 2023 with the release of the 300-ohm dynamic driver FT3 ($299). Since then, they’ve expanded their headphone lineup with several models: the open-back planar magnetic FT5 ($449), a 32-ohm version of the FT3, and the budget-friendly open-back JT1 ($69), and most recently FiiO’s first wooden closed-back headphone, the FT1 ($149)—which already has made FiiO a big name in full size headphones—and now the $199 FT1 PRO.

FIIO’S NEW FULL-SIZE HEADPHONES IN 2025
FiiO will unsurprisingly continue offering the highly successful FT1 and FT1 PRO, but changes are coming to the lineup. Let’s start with the most exciting addition—the long-awaited flagship.
FIIO FT7
Finally, the planar magnetic FT7 is real. FiiO’s new flagship has faced several delays, but its market arrival is now imminent.
The FT7 will feature a massive 106mm planar magnetic driver with a sensitivity of 94 dB/mW. While its impedance hasn’t been disclosed yet, one particularly interesting design element is its zebrawood grills. I really appreciate the wooden aesthetic FiiO is incorporating into its latest headphone lineup—it adds both visual appeal and potential acoustic benefits.
Recently, the FT7 has been showcased at exhibitions worldwide, generating significant buzz. The key questions now revolve around its exact final pricing and exact release date, but it is expected to launch in April at around $800 or €730. How does it sound? We certainly hope to bring you a review soon!

As mentioned, the FT7 isn’t the only headphone FiiO is set to release this year. In fact, these two upcoming models are just as exciting and worth looking forward to:
FIIO FT13
The FT13 will be the successor to the dynamic open-back FT3, FiiO’s first HiFi over-ear headphone. While the FT3 offered impressive sound quality, some users weren’t fond of its design. As a 300-ohm headphone , it wasn’t the most mainstream choice, but it excelled when paired with many great amplifiers, and especially tube amps. There also was a 32-ohm version, though.
The FT13 will be FiiO’s second wooden-cup headphone, featuring a more refined and appealing design, improved comfort, and strong visual identity, according to FiiO.
While there’s no official word on its impedance yet, I personally hope FiiO continues to offer high-impedance options. High-impedance headphones are essential for pairing with some of the best amps, and it would be great to see them maintain that versatility for audiophiles.
Priced at around $300, FT13 is expected to launch in June.
FIIO FT15
The FT15 is the successor to FiiO’s first planar magnetic headphone, the open-back FT5. Along with improvements in tuning and wearing comfort, its most striking upgrade is the new wooden-cup design.
Expected to launch in October at around $450, the FT15 aims to refine FiiO’s approach to planar magnetic headphones while maintaining their signature balance of performance and value.
JADE AUDIO: TWO NEW MODELS
Jade Audio is FiiO’s budget-friendly brand, and FiiO launches two new headphones using the Jade brand.
JADE AUDIO JT3
This is an open-back dynamic driver headphone model, featuring a 50mm large-diameter dynamic driver. It is expected to launch before May, priced at around 100 USD.
JADE AUDIO JT7
An entry-level open-back planar magnetic headphone model, expected to launch in August and priced around 150 USD.
WHAT WE’D WOULD LIKE TO SEE
Although the FT3 and FT5 are well-built headphones with good sound, it was the FT1 that truly made me fall in love with FiiO. The new lineup looks very promising, but there’s one headphone I hope will have some extra attention given at FiiO’s R&D lab: The great FT1.
The thing is, I’d love to see FiiO develop a flagship closed-back model based on the already great FT1. To my ears the driver in the FT1 is good enough for a flagship, but there’s still room for advancements in sound using the same driver through careful acoustic tuning. In my review, I found that 3rd party circular sheepskin pads with soft memory foam with a wide internal opening made the FT1 even better sounding, without losing comfort.
Also, the headband could be modified, adding a strap for better comfort. I did not have any complaints but some users find the current headband not to fit their head ideally.
Anyway, we hope the FT1 and FT1PRO were just the beginning of a true headphone adventure for FiiO. With this new lineup, nearly all FiiO-branded over-ear headphones will feature wooden cups, establishing a distinct and recognizable signature style. We’re excited to see where this journey takes them.

IN-EAR MONITORS
FiiO also will launch some interesting new IEMs this year, with the first one already available.
1. FX17 Tribrid Flagship IEM
The FX17 just launched recently as a flagship tribrid. It’s almost maxed out with a titanium alloy shell, 13 drivers per side: one dynamic, 4 balanced armatures, and 8 electrostatic drivers. The planned release is in March. The price is 1500 USD.
The FX17 is available here FiiO FX17 from FiiO’s official store on AliExpress.

2. High-End Single Dynamic Driver FD17
The FD17 well be a single driver headphone, a step up from FD15. The release of the FD17 is estimated to October, with a price of around 600 USD.
3. Open Earbuds FF15
The FF15 will be the successor to the FF5, launch date uncertain.
